Hundreds of men are striving to hold the fire on a, twelve-mile front. Enormous damago has been done, one owner losing £6,000 worth of fencing. Many sheep wore burnt to death at Bathurst. One mob of several hundred was overwhelmed by flames while an attempt was being made to rescan them. Fires arc also reported frdm the Lille gow, Ccssnock, Coolah, Katoomba, ami Carcoar districts.
