RAGING IN NEW SOUTH WALES ENORMOUS DAMAGE DONE J, Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, February 1. .(Received February 1, at 10 a.m.) Huge losses of stock arc expected in the Garruudah district, near Goulburn, where bush fires arc travelling speedily with a terrifying roar through a wide expanse of grass land, burning crops, barns, and fences. Hundreds of men are striving to hold the fire on a, twelve-mile front. Enormous damago has been done, one owner losing £6,000 worth of fencing. Many sheep wore burnt to death at Bathurst. One mob of several hundred was overwhelmed by flames while an attempt was being made to rescan them. Fires arc also reported frdm the Lille gow, Ccssnock, Coolah, Katoomba, ami Carcoar districts.
