MOTOR CYCLE RACING
To-morrow afternoon will witness Ilia biggest motor cycle and athletic sports meeting field in Dunedin for a long time. Twelve motor cycle races are scheduled for decision, and some lino riding is expected, both from the local champions and U. G. Thomas, of Christchurch, who is a competitor at the meeting, Inglis astounded everyone with his brilliant riding on the, last occasion when a meeting was held at Forbury Park, but this time he will bo called upon lo do his very best, as ho is giving away nearly a lap in somo races. He will meet with stern opposition in many of the races from such riders as Neville Grounds, J. W. Earland, Pepper, Stewart, and other wellknown speed kings, and it will be surprising if a speed of seventy miles an hour is not reached during somo of these thrilling exhibitions of riding. The running races have also drawn a splendid entry, while the walk, too, will ho well contested. The cycling events are expected to provide keen racing, and there should be some thrilling finishes. Dirt track motor cycle racing is growing in popularity everywhere in the world, and Dunedin is fortunate in being one of the first cities in New Zealand to be able to stag® these races.-
