£20,090 FOR CHURCH OF ENGLAND [Pe* D sited Peess Association.] AUCKLAND, January 31. Underlie will of the late Mr Thomas Grainger, of 27 King Edward avenue, Epsom, Auckland, the Church of England and various charitable institutions in Auckland will benefit to the extent of about £35.000. The estate has just been sworn at £50,000, and after payment of legacies to relatives and charitable institutions and succession and death duties tho residue will amount to not less than £20,000. This sura Mr Grainger bequeathed to the Church of England, to bo held in trust by the Bishop of Auckland, and to be applied by him to such charitable purposes as he thinks fit. _ Although there is no direction in his will as to how the money shall be spent, Mr Grainger during his life expressed the wish that the bequest should be_ used for the establishment of a training farm under the Church of England immigration parentage. The money is at present invested in securities. Legacies to charity scheme for boys and girls of British include £I,OOO to the Orphans’ Home at Papatoetoe, £SOO to the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, £SOO to tho Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, £SOO to the Manurewa Children’s Home, £SOO to the Salvation Army for expenditure in Auckland, and £SO to the Thames Hospital Board. Mr Grainger, who was an old resident of Aucklai®. was a retired baker. He was about eighty years of ago at the time of his death last December. He leaves a widow, but no children.
