INSPECTION BY FOUR MINISTERS ARAPUHI DAM WORKS (.Special to tub ‘ Stae.’J WELLINGTON, January 31. Ministers are so much iii demand in all parts of the dominion that it is diflicnlt to make arrangements for them to join forces for the promised inspection of tho Wairoa-Gisborne Railway route and the Rotorua-Taupo route. However, the H on. E. A. Ransom (Minister of Works) has arranged with the Hon. W. B. Taverner (Minister of Railways), tho Hon. G. W. Forbes (Minister of Lands and Agriculture), anu Sir Apirana Ngata (Native Minister) to meet him at Wairoa on Saturday, February 16. for the purpose of going over tho inland aml coastal routes of the Wai-roa-Gisborno Railway. While in the district tho Ministers will visit tho■ hydro-electric power development at Waikarcmoana. After the Taupo-Rotorua Railway route has been traversed it is tlio intention of tho Minister of Works to proceed to Arapuni to make an investigation of this scheme, especially in tho light of criticism suggesting that tho geological formation is a subject of concern. He will be accompanied by the Chief Engineer (Mr Furkcrt).
