(Received December 21, at 11 a.m.) Sir Hubert Wilkins, in a copyright message, states: — “ Graham Land is separated from the great Polar continent by an ice-filled channel. A question which has puzzled geographers for ages was solved to-day, a flight in a monoplane beyond the volcanic mountains in Graham Land enabling us to see 650 miles south over tho Antarctic continent. It proved conclusively that tho mountain range does not extend uninterruptedly. It has previously been the belief of science that tho mountains in Graham Land extended towards the Pole and perhaps beyond it. We disproved that to-day. Wo also gained an important sight of the geographical formation of this little-known land of ice. A runway of half a mile had to be cleared through the snow, and tho take-off was very difficult,”—Australian Press Asso-ciation-United Service.
