FISH MIGRATION PROBLEM INVESTIGATION FOR NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT [Pint United I’uess Association.] AUCKLAND, December 19. Hie Danish scientific research ship Dana arrived from Noumea to-day in continuation of _ her Pacific cruise. There arc six scientists on board, tho leader being Dr Johannes Schmidt, director of Carlsborg Laboratory,' Copenhagen, who brings : greetings from Denmark to the Government and people of New Zealand. During tht Dana’s stay in New Zealand Dr Schmidt will conduct certain investigations concerning fish supplies on behalf of the New Zealand Government. These will include the problem of tho migration of the schnapper <v ' the migration habits of the sprat, which in the near future may be a staple product of tho sardine-canning industry in New Zealand; and an attempt may also bo made to discover the spawning ground of the swordfish. Tho ship will bo tbreo weeks off the east coast of New Zealand,_ and will leave Wellington for Australia.
