Grange in the Lead
As the result of the third round of matches in the Otago Cricket Associar tion’a senior competition, which was completed on Saturday afternoon in fine weather, Grange has established a load of 1 point over the only other undefeated team, Old Boys. Grange had made 91 without loss against Carisbrook’s 107, and the former’s score was carried to 273 for live wickets before a declaration was made. With a little over two hours to play, Carisbrook went in to bat on a wicket that was wearing badly,-and a feeble showing saw the side dismissed for 101, Grange thus securing a 3-pomt win. M'Mullan, who has already a century score to nis credit this season, made 80 -for Grange; and for Carisbrook, Blunt, who snowed a welcome return to form, made 52—more than half the total. Galland was in great form with the ball for Grange. Dunedin scored a 2-pomt win against Albion, who were dismissed for 101—85 fewer than Dunedin’s total. M'Donald batted well for 47 Monk, Cavanagh, and Torrance shared the wickets for Dunedin, who lost five wickets for 126 runs on -their second essay at the wickets, Cavanagh batting freely tor 59. Old Boys had a. 2-poiht win against the Colts, for whom the professional coach, Eastman, made 52, Dickinson took five wickets for 44 rims and A. W. Alloo five for 41.
