CHURCH COLLEGES AHHUAI REPORT [Pek United Pkess Association.] AUCKLAND, November 26. The Presbyterian Assembly this morning considered the report of the Board of Education presented by tbo Rev. W. R. Hutchison (Rangiora). Reviewing tbo year’s work ol tbo eight church colleges, tbo report stated that the colleges were taking an honourable place among the secondary schools of the dominion in scholarship, in athletics, and in character building. There were, encouraging signs that the occasioned by the wave of financial depression iu the dominion were passing, but the burden of debt on tbo college boards was still heavy. The committee suggested that the church shuokl raise a substantial college endowment fund.
A deputation from Wellington on behalf of the Wellington colleges was hoard in committee, a lengthy discussion following. This afternoon the Assembly will further consider recommendations on church reorganisation, and this evening there will he a missionary demonstration, which will be broadcast from the Town Hall.
