The House of Commons to-day passed the second reading; of the Overseas Trade Bill, the object of which is to extend the period under which guarantees can be given under the export guarantees scheme for two years—until September, 1931—and to extend the period during which the guarantees already given shall remain in force by three years—until September, 1936. The House of Commons also passed without a division the second reading of a Bill granting members of the diplomatic service the same pensionable rights as other members of the Civil Service.
