BURNSIDE STOCK SALES

There was a fair average yarding at the slock sales at Burnside to-day. In tho fat sheep section 1,451) good mixed wethers and ewes of good quality were yarded. About one-third were shorn. Tho demand opened at 2s_ 6d easier than last week, but improved as the sale progressed to Is per head. Extra, prime wethers realised from 56s to 575; prime heavies, 46s to 50s; prime, 41s to 435; light, 38s to 38s 6d; extra prune ewes, 48s; prime, 4Us !)d to 42s 9d; medium, 30s to 355; .short wethers, best, 35s to 425; medium, 27s to 30s; owes, 27s to 30s 6d. Ninety-seven fat lambs were on nlfcr, being of fair to prime quality. There was a good demand, hut tho market was 2s easier than last week. Heavy lambs brought 42s to 435; prime, 35s 9d, to 38s; and medium, 28s to 325. Tho entry of fat cattle was up to the average. The quality was good, and there were some choice bullocks included. The values realised were equal to last week’s.

About 100 store cattle were yarded, comprising good mixed cows and young cattle, and a few pons of two and three-year-old bullocks. The demand for all classes was good, the thrce-year-old bullocks making £9 5s to £ll 4s. Ollier prices were unchanged. In tlic pig section 128 fat pigs were yarded, and 139 stores. Tho demand was somewhat slower, though the selection was fair, and (lie price;; were on a parity with last week’s sales.
