BYRD EXPEDITION
ELEANOR BOLLING DUE HERE SATURDAY SNOW DYE FOR PLANE POINTERS [Psk United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, November 14. Commander Byrd lias decided that tho stealer Eleanor Bolling shall call at Dunedin lirst, and she is expected to arrive there on Saturday. She will come to Wellington later and take in tho equipment brought by the commander. As usual with these expeditions, many gifts, including a toil of chocolate, are being offered. A fair quantity of the stores will bo purchased in New Zealand such as eggs, candles, matches, clothing, and boots. One of tho novelties of the expedition will bo the nso of bottles filled with aniline dye, dropped on the snow. They will break and leave a large red patch as a guide to the aeroplane. Smoke bombs will also be employed for this purpose.
