ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
DEATH IN POLICE CELL. When Robert Murdoch, aged fortj three, was charged with drunkenness in the Police Court yesterday morning ho was remanded for seven days for medical treatment. He was visited at frequent intervals during tho afternoon and evening, and when seen at 9 o’clock at night ho appeared to bo all right. A .quarter of an hour later, when the constable w;ent in to the cell, Murdoch was in what the constable thought was a fit. He immediately sent for Dr Evans, hut Murdoch was dead before tho doctor’s arrival. An inquest was held this afternoon.
