I Doumergue) has now conferred with various people at the Elysee, and the opinion prevails that the President is massing a formidable offensive based on public oninion in readiness to summon |M. Poincare, the object being to put him in such a position that he cannot refuse office. Admittedly, opinion has hardened in favour of M. Poincare’s recall.—Aufitralian Press Association,
