EXECUTIVE MEETING Mr W. 0. M'Kellar (president) presided at a meeting of the executive of the Otago A., and P. Society yesterday afternoon to -deal with -several matters in connection with tho forthcoming Summer-Show. . . The Secretary submitted the full list of tho different judges and class stewards appointed. The President stated that judges had been appointed in all sections with the exception of one, and steps have been taken to secure a judge for that section. Tho ' Now Zealand Ayrshire Breeders’ Association wrote that tho executive had resolved to present a prize of £2 2s to the exhibitor gaining tho most points in the Ayrshire section at the snow annually until further notice.—The offer was received, and tho secretary was instructed to express the committee’s thanks and appreciation for their support and interest. \ letter was received from Sir John Roberts thanking the president and committee for their congratulations on his attaining his eighty-third birthday. Certificates were issued to tho three judges appointed from the North Island to act at the Summer Show to enable them to travel at excursion fares. A letter was received from Mr E. M. North. asking if it wero possible to extend the date of receiving entries, pointing out that some exhibitors had asked him if the committee would accept entries after the Gamaru show. —After some discussion it was decided that entries would bo_ received by mail on Tuesday liiglit, November 13, and the committee regretted that it could not accept entries after the Oamaru show. A letter was sent to the tramways manager asking that the usual train arrangements should bo made lor the people’s day of the show, and asking tho Tramways Committee to consider favourably a reduction of the fares, which was approved.. A letter to the electrical engineer and tho telegraph engineer in connection with the light and telephone at the leading bank was read and approved. It was decided to ask the mayor <NIr W. B. Taverner) to declare a half-holiday from noon on 'ihmsday, November 22 (people’s day of tho show). Tho railway district traffic maiager,. New Zealand Railways, wrote submitting full particulars of the proposed arrangements in connection with the arrival and departure of stock. 1 lie President pointed out that the anangcmonts would ensure all stock ai riving in Dunedin in sufficient time to be unloaded beiore dark, and in regard to tho returning ot stock, the arrangements provide tor ail stock reaching its destination either on the opening-of tho people's day of tho -dunv or early the following morning. It was stated that intending exhibitors' would facilitate greatly t.ne mace work ,if thev would send in their entries as early as convenient, and thus enable a correct catalogue to be issued. A commete programme has been arranged tor people’s day of the show, the ring being fully occupied from 9 a.m. until 5.30 p-m.. and there promises to be some exceedingly interesting' competitions during the alternoon. Tl?e parade, which m the -past has been held at 2 p.m.. will this year bo delayed an Hour to give the public an opportunity of seeing the parade, and immediately it is over permission will ho given to exhibitors to start loading their stock to ensure that tho arrangements made for the trains leaving Dunedin will be adhered to.
