SOUTH AUSTRALIA SCORES WELL DOUBLE CENTURY TO RICHARDSON Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. ! ADELAIDE, October 29. To-day’s play saw England’s bowlers completely, subjected by the South Australians, Richardson mid Pritchard. There was a good wicket, faster than that of Saturday, and the weather was brilliant. The pair broke the record second-wicket partnership of 192 for South Australia versus England. They attacked vigorously from the start, hitting hard, and were not troubled by the English bowling, which presented no difficulties to them. Pritchard and Richardson added 255 for the second wicket in 176 minutes. Pritchard hit eleven 4‘s in a bright, forceful display. He was dismissed when attempting to pull White into the grand stand. Richardson made a magnificent showing, hitting hard in all directions, and ho reached 200 amid wild- applause, it was his highest score in first-class matches, his previous best being 157 against New South Wales in 1926. His prospects of playing in test cricket h.ave been considerably brightened. His innings lasted 307 minutes, and he hit twenty-seven 4’s. The departure of Richardson saw a change in South Australia’s position. Freeman’s bowling again caused a temporary rot, and ho took three wickets lor 3 runs. . From three for 410 the score went to six for 455. Hack, the young South Australian wicketkeeper, shaped well. Ho was slow, but solid, and scored 43 iu_ 112 minutes. Pellow, who was playing first-class cricket, after an absence of several years, was not impressive with the hat, The cricket was very quiet after tea, the later batsmen finding Freeman very difficult. Ley la mi, who was not tried till late in the innings, secured two cheap wickets. Tho English bowling was on top after tea, tho South Australian batsmen giving a weak display. Freeman greatly improved Ins average. Grimmet shaped well with bis typical careful style. Details; — ENGLAND.
