THE ELLERSLIE FIASCO
SIGNALLING A FALSE START. In view of the recent starting fiasco- at Ellerslie the committee of the Auckland Racing Club has decided that at future meetings a special mounted official should bo employed with a flag stationed some distance in front of the start, who, on receiving a flag signal from the starter that the race has not been officially started, will be in a position to recall the field.
