NAVY OF GERMANY
HEW CHIEF APPOINTED IDEAS ON WOMEN’S HAIR. . BERLIN, September 19. Vice-admiral Raeder, who was Admiral Von Hipper’s chief of staff during the war, and who commanded the battle cruiser Sc~dlitz at the Battle of Jutland, has been, appointed head of the naval administration. He is regarded as the best man in Germany’s post-war navy.' It is understood that the appointment was due to the desire of the Minister of Defence, Herr Greener, that the Army and Navy should work hand in hand. 1 Vice-admiral Raeder, while he was commander at Kiel, prohibited the wives of subordinate officers bobbing or shingling their hair. It is expected that he will issue a similar order throughout the German Navy.
