[Pctt United Parts Association. J NEW PLYMOUTH, August, 18. The Taranaki representatives defeated Wanganui by 20 to 11. before a crowd of 8.000. The Taranaki team’s display was much belter than that of a week ago. when they were lucky to beat Hawke’s Bay. The game was fast and eventful. There was not a great deal of difference between the teams, but Taranaki held tho winning margin all the way after scoring early a converted try. Taranaki had the advantage in tho scrums, and made more uso of the passing movements initiated therefrom. Wanganui worked unremittingly. and for a considerable period in the first- spell their forwards seemed :ia if they would take charge. Every' try scored was a spectacular cue that raised enthusiasm.
