Two officers of the Presbyterian General Assembly, the Rev. W. J. Corario (treasurer) and the Rev. George Budd (superintendent of home missions), have been in Dunedin_ on church business, and left for Wellington this morning. Mr Vernon Hargreaves and his wife went back to Christchurch to-day. Mrs Norton Taylor, principal of tho Southland School of Shorthand, travelled by the through express to-day to Christchurch.

The Clutha Presbytery yesterday sustained the call to Lawrence of the' Rev. H. H. Barton, and he has intimated that he accepts it. The induction is fixed for October 10.
