Mr Ivan S. Cantrell, transferred by the National Bank from Dunedin to Auckland, to be assistant manager there, w r as tarewelled ou the railway platform this morning. An hour earlier a number of business men gave Mr Cantrell a send-olf in the Grand Hotel. Mr W. E. C. Reid spoke on behalf of tho hank’s clients in wishing Mr Cantrell prosperity and happiness in his new sphere, and Mr J. S. Douglas, deputy-mayor, conveyed the good wishes of tho citizens. Mr A- A. Paapo added words of welcome to Mr Hanna, who is tlie incoming officer of the bank. The Rev. H. H. Barton, of Dundein, has received a call to tho pastorate of the Lawrence Presbyterian Church. Mr F. Dawson, of the Lands and Deeds Department, is transferred to" Wellington, and left . this morning. Many friends and brother officers assembled to wish him luck and health. Mr E. H. S. Miller, who is joining the editorial staff of tho Auckland ‘Sun,’ went away with his wife this morning. Mr C. W. Rattray travelled to-day by train from Dunedin to Christchurch. Mr W. E. S. Knight is ou his way to Wellington for a meeting of tho executive of tho Hospital Boards’ Association.

The Rev. J. A. Lush, vicar of Invercargill, is about duo to arrive after his visit to America. His wife left this morning to meet him at Wellington.

Mr Andrew Christie, who came to Dunedin to attend tho reunion of exWaikouaiti residents last night, went back to Ashburton by train to-day. The Hon. A. S. Malcolm loft for Wellington this morning. Cricketers generally will learn with regret the news of the death of Mr Norris Conradi, who for many years was one of the most consistent”club cricketers in Dunedin. Mr Conradi, who had been ill, returned to work, when ho had a heart attack- which caused his death. The late Mr Conradi, or “Con,” as ho was known to his fellow cricketers, was horn in Melbourne, and before woming to Dunedin in 1914 was a member of the, Sydenham senior eleven in Christchurch, winning his place in the Canterbury B side. Be linked up with the Grange Club when ho came to Dunedin, and hi his first season hero scored three centuries. He was a good all-rounder, and had captained tho Grange eleven on various occasions, having played with tho team continuously up to the end of last season. Ho won Otago representative honours on various occasions, and captained an Otago team against Southland. Ho was a member' of the committee of tho Grange Club. Tho deceased was manager of tho firm of Cycle and Motor Supplies, Ltd., and was well known in the country districts between Invercargill and Oamaru. Mr Confradj, who was only thirty-eight years of age, is survived by his wife and ono son, to whom the sympathy or a. largo circle of friends will bo extended in their bereavement. ill' Edward Percival, B.Sc., of the University of Leeds, has been offered t!ie appointment of professor of bioloffy at Canterbury College in succession to J rofessor C.
