PROFESSOR MALMGREH'S DEATH TERRIBLE CHARGES CONTINUE Frees Association—By Telegraph— Copyright. LONDON, July 28. Terrible charges continue openly to be made by the Scandinavian Press concerning the fate of Professor Malmgren, and many British and French newspapers hint that there was something mysterious in Professor Malmgren’s death. The diplomatic correspondent of the ’ Dailv Herald ’ declares that it is absurd to beat about the bush any longer in the matter of the Italia disaster. The charge i.s openly made in the Scandinavian Press that Professor Malmgren was killed and eaten by Ins two Italian companions, and that the third man seen in a recumbent position by Chuknovsky from his aeroplane was a' half-eaten corpse, and that they got rid of it before they were rescued. The further charge is made that the story of his having died a month before was a fabrication. If this were true, then the story of the two rescued men could not bo true. If, as everybody hopes, the story which is being widely circulated and widely believed is also untrue, surely the Italians would welcome a full inquiry to bring out and establish the real facts. The Oslo correspondent of the ‘ Morning Post ’ states that Nilsson, tho pilot of the Swedish aeroplane Lppland, confirms that tho two Italians brought only Professor Malmgren’s compass and not his diary. The entire Swedish expedition was greatly surprised at their not doing so, since it was certain that such an experienced man as 1 rofessor Malmgren did not omit to keep a diary, which would supply valuable information on the ill-fated expedition —Australian Press Association. SWEDISH RESCUERS CHEERED. STOCKHOLM, July 23.. Tho Swedish rescuers and the Italia survivors arrived at Kbylbo. General Nobile’s car was uncoupled for another route, and only Beliounek and his sister loft their berths and greeted friends, including Behounck’s fiancee.
