In the Davis Cup doubles Codiet and Borotra (France) beat Tildcu and Hunter (America), 6-4, 6-S 7-5. 4-6, 6-2. The Frenchmen achieved a spectacular victory. Tiklen was just as remarkable «s on Friday, and Hunter ably seconded him. The French won many points in the first sot by lightning smashes. Both men drove hard and placed the ball finely. The third set was slower, the F’rcndiuieu being apparently less inspired, but they scrambled out winners. Hunter was steadier tnau previously. The first lour games of the last set were won by France s superb team work. The Americans were also good. In the filth game Borotra. tiehbcratelv drove out a ball tollowing a disputed service from Cochet, The succeeding game was a magnificent example of French control _in returning a senes of temptingly high shots.
