ATTACK OH HAIL LONDON, July 20. Bombarding the skies with high explosive to prevent the formation of hail, and thereby saving vines, _ is the latest feature of "agricultural science, according to a despatch from the ‘Daily Mail’s’ Geneva correspondent. Recently the authorities banged away at the skies for two hours during a heavy thunderstorm on tho FrancoSwisp border with a new type of high explosive, to prevent-the hail forming. Winegrowers state that the efficiency of the method was proved by the area where the bombardment took place escaping serious damage, whereas in a neighbouring district, where the rockets were not nped, 50 per cent, of the crop was ruined.
