SAW LIGHT BRIGADE CHARGE
WORKED WITH FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE [Per United Press Assocution.] AUCKLAND; July 16. Jlr Ceorge Bruce, who died at Takapuna yesterday, was born at Dundee in 1859. * Ho was on f lic sailing vessel Sutlej, which carried stores to the troops in the Crimea. Ho was a spectator of the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava, and as a hospital assistant came into personal contact with Florence Nightingale. Ho came to New Zealand in 1867, and later was secretary of the Oanmrii Hospital Board for some yeans.
