■BETTING BIEL A GOVERNMENT MEASURE. (Brii-’di Official Wifeless.) Press Association—By Telegraph-Copyright LIUGBY, July 12. Referring to the intention to treat the .Racccoui'so Betting Bill ns a Government measure, the Prime Minister, in The House oi Commons to-day, said that one reason was that the measure would bo of very considerable assistance to the Exchequer, and if it was passed it would make .possible the remodelling of the hotting taxes. Many members also believed very firmly that it would have a very appreciable effect in helping to cleanse British racecourses.
