M'Elwcc, who attended the recent annual conference of the United Fire Brigades’ . Association at New Plymouth, reported thereon.—The board resolved to thank Fireman M Etwee for the report. „ The honorary secretary, Mr O. £<• Thetford, forwarded a report of the brigade’s activities during the past three months. It had attended a fire at the. gasworks, and one at a smokehouse, which was burned down. Two new firemen had been appointed, mailing a total of thirteen The motor, which was in good running order, would have to be fitted with a’siren. As the uniforms were twenty years old. moth eaten, and water marked, the firemen wanted new ones.—The report was received, and local members of the boar were asked, to look into the matter <■ the uniforms.
