Tho meeting of Otago Lodge was held on Monday, A.D. Bro. A. U. Rankin ‘being supported by a good attendance of officers and members of the order, including G.P, Bro. A. Walker, G.V.P. Bro. A Watson, G.G. Bro. G. Thompson, and D.P. Bro. Bushbridge, who were received with musical honours. Tho bard’s report disclosed a certain amount of sickness, but tho figures are not excessive for tins season of tbo year. Tho district euchre shield, which ■had been won by' tbo lodge tho previous week, was presented by P.G.P. Bro. Bryant, who congratulated the members of the team. One proposition for membership was received, and one candidate elected on clearance from a sister lodge. After routine business had been transacted the lodge adjourned for the purpose of welcoming and entertaining a party of Y.M.C.A. boys in charge of Mr Ledger wood. Some seventy-livo boys attended and spent a very happy time. Games and various competitions were indulged in, and after a hearty sapper had been partaken of the boys dispersed, apparently well pleased with the evening’s entertainment. Clark (Royal Oak), and P.D.P. Bro G Wil- , sun (Bay Lodge). Olive Branch Juvenile Lodge hold its meeting in tho George Street School Hall, the A.D. presiding over a fair at- ; tendance. Correspondence and sick pay were duly passed, and one eandiI date was received into the order. An invitation was received to take part in 1 a general efficiency competition, but the officers did not consider themselves 1 proficient enough, and so declined to enter. It was decided to accept the 1 invitation from Progress Lodge for the shooting team to attend tbeir next meeting and witness tho presentation of the shooting shield and prizes won at the competition. A fair number of the Executive Committee were present, and the toasts were responded to by P.T. Bro. Robertson and I.G. Bro. Doig (Lily of tbo Valley Lodge). Thereafter Supt. Bro. Faulda gave a short address to the members. on con- : duct while the lodge is in session. The meetings of Progress Juvenile Lodge art at any time of a high order, but the one held on Wednesday evening will rank ns ono of the best. The i lodge was opened punctually by A.D. Bro. Maybco. before a very large attendance of members, and business of a routine character was speedily disposed of. Among the correspondence was a letter from the Juvenile Council inviting entries for the general efficiency competition. Members were heartily ■ in accord with the competition, and it was unanimously resolved to forward an entry.-the-secretary being instructed to attend to the necessary formalities. At the invitation of the lodge the tennis who had competed in tiie recent shooting competition were present ns guests of the evening. Bro. J. T. laulds, president of the Juvenile Council, was also present, and in his remarks complimented Progress Lodge on winning the shooting shield, and secondly on being the first, lodge to have its name emblazoned thereon. He afterwards presented the shield to the Arch Druid, and) also, the prizes won by the .first, second, and third highest competitors-

namely, Bros. E. Greenall, J. F. Wilson, and J. Joyce. Three cheers were given for Bro. Grcenall, of Myrtle Lodge, who had secured the coveted honour of champion of champions. Ono candidate was initiated into iho order by A.D. Bro. Mayboe and his officers.' After this ceremony had boon completed a V.A. competition was held, six entries being received. Keen competition was displayed by the entrants, and Bro. Faulds, who acted as judge, had great difficulty in separating them at the close. The winner ultimately proved to be Bro. Graham, who was presented with a suitable' prize by Bro. Faulds. The usual toasts were given and responded to by tho visitors, after which supper was dispensed and a very pleasant night’s entertainment brought to a close. Tho following extract from the ‘ Weekly Scotsman ’ will bo of interest to those members of the Druidic order who have assisted in the gathering:— The Press Lodge bed at the Royal Free Hospital, London, was dedicated on Saturday. At an impressive cere monia! service, conducted by Bro. L. Barnard (Imperial G.A. Druid), it was stated that over 10J tons of silver paper had been collected for the hospitals in Scotland, America, Switzerland, and France. This is the nineteenth hospital bed that has been dedicated since the tinfoil collection was founded by the Ancient Order of Druids in 1912.”
