UNEMPLOYMENT.

ro THE EDITOtt Sir.—Would you kindly allow mo tho space in give vent to (he feelings at the sethack received by men looking for work? It has been tho experience of the writer on several occasions to be told to come back, and to be kept waiting for hours. Those employers must know beforehand that they are not in need of any labour, yet they keep a man calling morning after morning. It appears to the writer that there must be a source of satisfaction to them in it. What are our unions doing to allow this sort of thing to go on? Cannot they organise some scheme to relievo the distress amongst their members? In other centres demonstrations bavc been hold to bring tho position before the general public. The writer knows of a number of genuine cases where families are having a very hard tight to keep body and soul together. Ho will substantiate all the statements made, and if necessary, give tho names of tho thoughtless employers referred to. —I am, etc.. Out or Work. Juno 15.
