Last evening a party of thirty members ol ! the Royal .Dunedin Male Choir, convoyed in cars belonging to Messrs Black, Blair, Ellis, Dink, Haig, Parker, M'indoe, and M'Gregor, journeyed to Waitati, and gave a. concert to the slap' and inmates of the Orokonm Home. The part songs snug by the choir were, ‘ Border Ballad,’ ‘ Loch Lomond ’ (solo Mr d. Gordon Dick), “John .Peel,’ ‘Scots Wha Hae,’ ‘.hi Absence,’ and fho ‘Soldiers’ Chorus from i'’anst. The ladies assisting the choir were Mi.se Flora. Williamson, who was recalled for her singing of ‘Como to (ho Fair,’ and responded with ‘ Arise, 0 Sun,’ and Miss Mac Matheson, who sang ‘ Blackbird’s Song,' gave as an encoro number ‘ At Dawning.’ Messrs Jas. Howden and J. M*lndue, with their humorous Scotch recitations, were well received. The choir soloists were Messrs G. S. Newton (‘Nirvana’), J. C. Clark (‘ Sergeant Major’s on Parade ’ and ‘Smugglers’ Song’). Stuart Thomson (‘Plymouth Mo©’), J. S. Anderson (‘Mountain Lovers’ and 1 Bid Me to Love’), Douglas Napier (‘Up from Somerset’), J. A. Haggitt (humorous item). Messrs G. S. Newton and J. D. M‘ Kechnio sang the duct ‘ Watchman, What of the Night.’ Mr J. Wi Stewart played a flute solo, 1 Zigeuncs Jan/.,’ and Mr John G. Clark renclefd violin solos. Mr 1. J. Kirk-Burn and was accompanist. At the conclusion of the performance the choir and performers were thanked for their enjoyable concert. Mr J. D. M'Kechnie, chairman of tho choir, acknowledged their indebtedness to tho motorists, and thanked the staff for their hospitality and reception.
