The meeting of the Rescue Lodge, No. 105, Internaitonal Order, of (food Templars, which was lield on luesday in the Oddfellows’ Hall, King I'klward street, was again well attended. Bro. W. E. O’Neill. Chief Templar, presided, and two candidates were initiated. Correspondence was received Irom Bru. Burrows (‘Guide’ editor), and Star of Wellington Lodge. Reports were received from Bro. Dalton in rclerencc to the opening of the lodge and,temple at Waitati; also from the aggressive Work Committee. Bro. if Ramsay, S.L.W., read epitomes entitled ‘ Good Templary in Iceland,’ where one of every ten of the population it a Good Templar, and ‘ Prohibition in Japan,’ where a commission has been appointed bv the Emperor to inquire info distress and crime caused by intoxicating liquors. Bro. S. .Sell, L.D., was in charge of V? harmony, which, was a competition for the best limerick on the Good Templar Order. A large number competed, the efforts submitted being exceptionally good. Sister T. Williams, V.T.. was returned as the winner. Tiie vote to the visitors was responded to by Bro. Cromarty, All Nations Lodge, and Bro. Churchill, Hope of Dunedin. The All Nations, Pride of Waitati, and Hope of Dunedin Lodges are to be invited to the next meeting. The Star of the South Juvenile Temple met the same evening, there being a large number present.
