MOSCOVITCH SEASON

THE ‘RINGER'TO-NIGHT a A huge amount of interest is being taken by playgoers in the reappearance of Maurice Moscovitch, who is to produce for the first time iu Dunedin, at His Majesty’s Theatre, to-night and for three nights only, Edgar Wallace’* thrilling and mystifying drama, 1 The Ringer,’ which lias proved remarkably successful in almost every part of th* world. The J. C. Williamson, Ltd., management has surrounded Mr Moacovitch with a particularly powerful combination of dramatic and comedy artists, all of whom were specially selected for the parts they portray in ‘The Ringer’ and ‘The Terror,’ which is also to be staged during the present season. It is said that Air Moscovitch has set a new standard in dramatic art in ‘The Ringer,’ and that he gives a wonderful characterisation of Alaurica Aleister. Throughout tho play the plot centres round the operations of Aleister, and over all hangs tho shadow of ‘The Ringer,’ ever on the watch,ready to strike and to exact his full toll. That ‘The Ringer’ held the interest of New Zealand audiences everywhere lias been proved, for it has created just as much a sensation in Australasia as it lias iono in the great cities of the world. The management has been fortunate in securing the services of Air Patric Curwen for the important role of Dr Lomond, a character he created in England and in which he scored an outstanding triumph in Australia. Air Nat. Aladison will appear as Samuel Hackitt, and Atiss Mary AlacGregor and Aliss Bertha Riccardo have repeated their Australian successes in the roles respectively of Cora Ann Alilton and Alary Lenley. Others who will appear in important roles are George Blunt, Ashton .Tarry, Reginald Newson, Carletou Stuart, Guy Hastings, Reg. Carey, Herbert Leith, Richard Webster, Jack Dunne, and Aliss Kiore King. ‘ The Ringer ’ will ho played for three nights only, to bo followed by another Edgar Wallace thriller, ‘The Terror,’ and_ Dunedin will witness Hie first production in Australasia of ‘The Silent House,’ another thrilling play* The box plan arrangements are advertised.
