Irvine and Stevenson proceeded against J. Garside for £4 8s 9d, for Which judgment had been obtained against the debtor.—After hearing defendant, who said lie had been in hospital. the magistrate refused to make an order, . Woolston Tanneries, Ltd., proceeded against L. C. Ballot for £25 11s 2d, amount due for leather.—After hearing the debtor’s evidence ns to his circumstances, His Worship refused to make an order. Buttcnvorth Bros., Ltd. v. A. W. Turner, claim for £s.—Defendant .did not appear, and His Worship made an order for the payment of the amount due (for goods supplied) forthwith, with costs (6s), in default six days.’ imprisonment. AN LO.U. Alexander Mathicson Grainger, traveller, claimed from V, A. Wikland £3O on an 1.0. U., which defendant gave to plaintiff.—Mr R. S. King appeared for the plaintiff, and' Mr A, C. Stephens for the defendant.—The., .defence was that the defendant .gave'The J.O.U. conditional on arrangements bo-, ing made with respect to financing him in the purchase of a section and the erection of buildings.—After hearing evidence His Worship said defendant had not sluAvn that any conditions were discussed or stipulated. Judgment would be entered for plaintiff for the amount claimed, with costs. '
