MINING

Tho secretary of the Kawarau High Level Gold Mining Company, Ltd., reports that since the issue of the halfyearly report in April clearing and sluicing operations have been carried on at the company’s claim at Victoria bridge. The work has now been discontinued temporarily, and will be recommenced as soon as the worst of the winter is over, probably about the end of July. Before closing down the manager took up the boxes and secured approximately 14oz of gold.
