FATAL HEAD INJURIES. At the inquest in Wellington concorning tho death ol Air Richard Lyall Craik Phillips, a Government valuer, who was killed as a result of a motor car going over a hank to the railway lino at Wadcstown, a verdict was returned that tho deceased died from head injuries received in an accident with a' motor car. FOUND DEAD IN PARK. Tho dead body of Richard Middleton Brewer, a commercial traveller, aged about forty, was found lying in Central Park, Wellington, shortly after noon yesterday.

MOTOR CYCLIST’S DEATH, Instantaneous death was caused to John Robert Becker, twenty-six years of age, at Poolhurn last Saturday evening, when, riding a motor cycle along the main road, he collided with a ladder projecting from the rear of a motor truck standing at the side of the road, and was thrown 28ft. Medical aid was summoned, but Becker was found to be quite dead. Deceased, who was employed as a coal miner at Oturehua, was on his way to Poolburn, where he resided with his widowed mother. An inquest on the body was opened at Poolburn yesterday before Mr 11. J. Dixon, S.M. (sitting as coroner), Constable Wroblenski representing the police. After evidence of identification had been given, the inquiry was adjourned till Friday morning at Ophir. BADLY BURNED. An Association message from Wairoa states that a serious accident occurred yesterday afternoon at Tuai, when an employee of the Dunedin Engineering and "Steel Company named Mick Maloney, who was engaged in painting the inside of the big pipe-line, slipped and knocked over a benzine lamp, which set fire to the paint inside. Maloney was very badly burned before he was able to get out of tho pipeline, and now lies in a grave condition in the county hospital. There is very little hope of his recovery.
