LATE NOMINATION
DAIRY BOARD ELECTION INTERESTING POSITION CREATED CPs® United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 22. The fact that a nomination, addressed incorrectly, was received late has produced an interesting position in regard to the Dairy Board election. In tho case of Mr B. T. Booker, of Whitford, tho candidate against Mr. Grounds, there was apparently a last-mmuto rush in forwarding tho official nomination paper, for it had not been received by noon yesterday, when nominations closed. A registered letter containing tho paper was received by the returning officer at 3 p.ra., but was found to lie addressed to “The Dairy Control Board Election, Wellington.” The postal officials had placed a notification in the board’s letter box at the Post Office that this registered letter had arrived, but it was not until later that it was discovered that the letter •should have been addressed to iho Returning Officer, Department of Agriculture. Tho letter was redirected, but was received too late, and it is understood that tho nomination is not being accepted.
