BRITISH GARS DAMAGED CULPRITS NOT IDENTIFIED. LONDON, April 18. The Frankfort correspondent of ‘ The Times 1 says a message from Wiesbaden to the ‘ Frankfurter Zeitung ’ contains the information that motor cars belonging to the British army of occupation are constantly being damaged, tyres and cushions being cut and parts of the machinery stolen. Nationalist extremists are suspected of being the perpetrators of the damage, but the police have not yet traced the culprits. The British General Staff has _ notified the mayor that in future it will exercise more strict control over the passports of entrants to the occupied territory. The ‘ Zeitung ’ states it disapproves of the damage, but regards the British step as an act of reprisal which, while it does not afford a remedy, hits innocent people
