PROPOSED EXHIBITION BUILDINGS PERMANENT HOME FOR BRITISH INDUSTRIES FAIR. (British Official News.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. RUGBY, May 1. (Received May 2, at noon.) A project is on foot to build one of the finest exhibition buildings in the world at Earl’s Court. London, where in the years before the war exhibitions were held which were successful and highly popular. One of the advantages of Earl’s Court is that, being well within the London area, it is easily accessible, Wembley, where the British Empire Exhibition was held in 1924 and 1925, and where the British Inch tries Fair has since been held, is outside the London area, and consequently not so accessible, and in any case its lease for the British Industries Fair expires in 1930. It is now announced that the Board of Trade is negotiating for a lease of the ground at Earl’s Court, with a view to establishing a permanent home for the British -Industries Fair, which has developed so greatly, both in usefulness and popularity that it promises within a few years to be the biggest trade fair in the world. It is understood that the Underground Railways Company, which is the ground landlord of tho site, is negotiating also with other parties for leases, and it is hoped to produce an exhibition which will not only embody British trade and commerce, but will have amusement so well developed as to make Earl’s Court tho popular resort that it used to be.
