The members of tho Dunedin Hibernian Social and Debating Dlub assembled in good numbers to listen to a spirited debate on subject i Juit tho Arbitration Court oi Now Zealand .Should bo Abolished.’ The affirmative side was 3od by Mr U. A. w ’ lf ? was supported bv Messrs C. M JJonneu and V. G. Brown, and the negative) interests were undertaken by Mr J. in. Smith (leader) and Messrs F. Moloney and B. Pledger. Mr J. Robinson acted as judge, and gave his decision in favor of tho negative side, whioli verdict was also uphold by tho vote of the audience. In the course of ids remarks, the judge enlightened the audicnco on several interesting sidelights on the Arbitration Court. Tho president (Mr A. Gilhck) warmly thanked Mr Robinson for the service he had rendered tho club, the lenders of the respective sides supported the president in Ids remarks. At an impromptu speech evening the fallowing subjects were discussedA Review of Mv Easter Holidays (Mr J. R. Ward) ; ‘ Should the Stats Determine the Age at which People Should Marry?’ (Mr V- Brown); ‘ls It Consistent With Amateurism That the All Black Team Include Professional Sports?’ (Mr J. BvniD ; ‘Should Married Men Plav Ronthall?’ (Mr A. Cillick); ‘Das tho Time Arrived tor the Club to Extend Hs Membership to the Catholic Ladies ol Dunedin? (Mr A. j. Dowling); ‘Do You Consider That tbo White Civilisation is Doomed?’ (Mr J. Pledger); ‘ What Is Y r our Opinion of the Ideal Ago for Man to Marry?’ (Mr J. Kennedy); ‘Should tho City Council Encourage Sunday Bus Services?’ (Mr A. L. Curry).
