FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA
MANNING NEARLY READY LONK JOURNEY PROPOSED. LONDON, March 28. Wingl commander Edye R. Manning, forerly of New South Wales, and now secdn in command of the Royal Air Force depot at Uxbridge, is contemplating a lone flight to Australia, to begin shortly. The airman, who served in the British Air Force during the war, will use a W'estland Widgeon light ’plane. Inquiries disclosed the fact that WTng-commander Manning has made extensive preparations for the flight, and intends using his service furlough to revisit relatives and friends m Sydney. London friends assert that Manning's arrangements have reached such a that he could start in ten days. H© vTsited the High Commissioner for Australia, Sir Granville Ryrie, at Australia House to-day. It is understood that Manning planned the trip before Mr Bert Hinkrcl’s flight, and recently discussed with aviation authorities several routes, including Hnkler s and also an alternatve route by way of Turkey.
