LEEDS-LIVERPOOL CANAL BURSTS VILLAGE SUBMERGED. LONDON, February 19. (Received February 20, at 9.5 a.m.). When tho Leeds-Livcrpool Canal burst at Maghull, near Liverpool, a torrent 12011 deep swept flic fields, tore up trees and crops, and drowned tho stock, and submerged the v'llage to a depth of 6ft. Hundreds of fish were caught in the streets and many inside the houses, which were invaded by thousands of water rats, —A. and N'.Z. and ‘Sun’ Cable.
