The Marine Department advises that tho Government steamer Tutanckai is to leave Auckland to-morrow lor southern lighthouses. She will call at Dunedin about the end of the week. The Wingatui sailed on Saturday evening for Auckland via way ports. The Holmdnle arrived this morning from AVellington, and is to sail to-mor-row night for Oamaru. Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and 'Wanganui. Tho Kahika is to leave Bln If this evening for Dunedin, where she will load to-morrow for Napier and Gisborne via ports. The Kurow is to leave Port Craig to-mnrrow and Bluff on Thursday tor .Dunedin. Sho is In load here on Friday for Oamaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland.

The Calm is duo to-morrow from Bluff to load and sail the same day lor Oamam, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Breeze is due to-morrow night from Lyttelton. She is to sail on W ednesday for Timaru. Lyttelton, Wellington. Picton, and ’Wanganui. The American steamer West Nivana, which is due at Auckland from Ban Pedro on March 2. has cargo from Pacific Coast ports, and will alterwards go to Wellington and Lyttelton to complete discharge. Other steamers of the A.A.O. Line' scheduled to leave Ban Pedro with cargo from Pacific Coast ports for New Zealand arc the West Conob on March A the West Elcajon on March 31, and the West Conob on April 28. The R. and 0. liner Mooltan, from London, after calling at Fremantle, Adelaide, and Melbourne, is duo at Sydney on February 23. She will probably connect with the Marnma and Maunganui, which leave Sydney tor Auckland and ’Wellington respectively on February 24.

The. motor ship Hauraki arrived at Auckland yesterday from Pacific Const ports. After discharge there she proceeds to Wellington, thence Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. The collier Kaiwarrn js due at Auckland to-morrow from Newcastle.

The Island passenger steamer Tofua was due at Auckland from Suva this afternoon. The C. and D. steamer Port Melbourne arrived yesterday morning lo fill up for London. HORORATA AT PANAMA. A cable message reports that the Hororata arrived at Panama on Tuesday from Auckland, en route to New York, Halifax, and London. The vessel left Auckland on January 24. STEAMERS FROM HALIFAX. The local office of the Canadian Government Merchant Marine, has received advice that the Canadian Highlander is scheduled to reach Auckland from Halifax on March 8. Her other unloading ports are Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. Also for the same ports in New Zealand. the Canadian Britisher is to leave Halifax on February 25, the Canadian Transport on March 24, and the Canadian Challenger on April 25. PERSONAL. Captain W. W. Fisk arrived in Wellington by the Marama on Tuesday morning. Mr J. D. Lundie, late chief officer of the Waipahi. arrived at Wellington on Tuesday morning by the Marnma. Mr C. R. Carlyon has relieved Mr G. M. Coote as fourth officer of the Tahiti, the- latter officer- being appointed third officer of the Kaimai. The Oonah has been recommissioned at Melbourne in command of Captain E. Evans, who has with him the Billowing officers:—Chief. Mr E. V. Buckingham; second, Mr J. V. Bray; third, Mr R. Blampied.

PHOSPHATE CARGOES. The following steamers are at present loading phosphate at Pacific Islands for Australia or New Zealand. Their actual ports of discharge have not vet been announced;— At Nauru Island.—Cymric P.ride. At Ocean Island.—Nile, Dagfred. At Makatea Island.—Pacific Transport, Haleric. PIAKO FROM NEW YORK. Cabled news has been received that the A. and A. Line chartered steamer Piako sailed from New York on February 11 with general cargo to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. Sho is due at Auckland on March 17. PORT HUNTER AT AUCKLAND. According to telegraphic advice, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Hunter arrived at Auckland yesterday morning from Liverpool. She has cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel should bo liere about March 2. WAIKOUAJTI FROM SYDNEY. The Union Company advises that the cargo vessel Waikouaiti, from Sydney, is to leave Bluff at 1 a.in. to-morrow for Dunedin to unload part cargo. She is due to-morrow afternoon, and after discharge will proceed to Lyttelton, Tiniaru, and Sydney. THE CANADIAN CHALLENGED. With general cargo from Halifax and Sydney (Cape Breton), the Canadian Government Line steamer Canadian Challenger arrived yesterday morning after calling at New Zealand ports. She was berthed at the Rattray street wharf. The vessel sailed from Halifax on December 27, and experienced a fair weather voyage to Auckland. Captain 0. W. Williamson is in command, and associated with him are tho following officers:—Chief, Mr L. G. Wcntzcll; second, Mr C. F. Himmelman; third, Mr H. Turner; chief engineer, Mr ■)• Davis; second, Mr H. Simpson; third, Mr P. Raterson; fourth, Mr J. Crichton; wireless operator, Mr G. Du f resene; chief steward, Mr J. M'Dougall. The Canadian Challenger is to go to Port Chalmers to-morrow morning to load for New York, Boston, and Halifax. She will complete loading at Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. LOOKING FOR FIRE IN HUNKERS. All the coal in the bunkers ot the steamer City of Bath will probably ho discharged at Port Chalmers. The indications to-day were that the coal had not only heated in the enclosed space, but that in places it had been smouldering. As coal bunkers are not designed for the discharge of coal except by way of the furnaces, the discharging of it inro railway trucks is a slow process, although overtime is being worked. The steamer is now expected to sail lor Australian ports on Friday. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL.
