LITTLE CHANGE IN SHEEP PRICES. The sheep sales at Burnside to-day showed little change in comparison with the rates of last week. The store cattle and pig markets were easier. Fat Cattle.—A yarding of 240 ; : There was a fair average to good quality bullocks, with a number of heavy cows and prime 'heifers included. The opening demand was very dull, the sales generally being 10s to 20s cheaper than the opening rates ot last week. ’.l he sales finished practically on par with last week’s closing rates. _ Prices: Prime bullocks, £l4 to £ls ss; medium, £ll to £l2 15s; prime neifcrs, £9 to £.lO 2s 6d; medium, £7 5s to £8; best cows, £9 17s to £lO 15s; medium, £7 to £8 10s. Fat Sheep.—There was a moderate yarding of 1,545. The proportion of ewes was less Hum usual. Some good penuiugs extra, wethers station wethers were included. The opening was very fair, but a shade bettor than last week's average rates. The marnet closed running out at about last week’s values, with a shilling decline on the heavier sheep. Exporters took a number of ewes, which sold fairly well. Prir Extra heavy wethers, to 40s .Id; prime-heavv. 33s to 37s Cxi; prime, 2fis 6d to 27s f)d; light, 23s to 24s 6d; extra heavy ewes, to 30s; prime heavy, 25s to 27s fid; light and medium, 14s to 16s. . . Fat Lambs. —In this section oiH were forward, the yarding comprising of fair to prime lambs, with a few penmngs unfinished. There was a good demand at the best rates of last week for all prime lambs, hut medium and plain were dull. Prices; Extra heavy lambs, to :15s; prime heavy. 29s to 325; prime. oq s to 28s fid; medium and light, 21s in' 23s fid. Store Cattle.—There was a very lug yarding of over 400 head, which, in the main, comprised cows, boilers, and young cattle, together with 130 two, three? and four-year-old bullocks. There was a. very fair demand lor steers at slightly reduced rates. Cows were a little cheaper also. Some lines of steers were passed off at auction. Prices: Best throe and four-year-old bullocks, £lO to £ll 4s; two and three-year-old steers, £8 to £9 12s; one mid a-half-year-old steers, tp £fi 14s.
