The presence of the English players lent an additional interest to the semifinal of the North Island singles. Today Aliss Rctaillack and Aliss Steele were to meet in the lower half, and Colonel Du Pre is waiting for the winner of the Cnughley-Alurray game in the upper half. In the North Island championship doubles Airs APDowell and Airs Cole were to play < Airs Skeet and Miss Skeet in the semi-final to-day, and the winners will meet Colonel; Du Pre and Aliss Steele in the final games.
