TOWN DESTROYED
A QUEENSLAND FIRE Press Association —By Telegraph Copyright BRISBANE, January 31. Fire practically wiped out the town of Alpha, in the central district of the .State, twelve shops and the only two hotels in the town being destroyed. There was no water supply to fight the outbreak, which was soon out of control. The damage will run into many thousands of pounds.
