UPPER NEVIS DREDGING COBIPAN Y. Mr S. C. Faehc. general manager and dredgemaster of the Upper Nevis Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., reported on January 24 as follows; The return of llloz Lldwls is for dredging done since wo started. 1 did not intend washingup, as the work oi opening out necessitates a bit of lost time, to say nothing of little stuff being treated. The wash up is up to the morning of January 20, and is much better than I expected. Wo have lonnd it extremely difficult getting down through the red wash, but as wc get more opened out wo are finding it easier to handle. We have a cut now about 200 ft wide. Against the rim reef we are now down to 42ft below the water; on the eastern side we are down to 33ft, and for about 31ft on top of the rim reef we are down to 12ft on to a blue granite bottom and jagged reel. We are finding the wash against the rim reef much freer as we get down. We are having no trouble saving the gold, the last naif of the boxes having practically no,gold.
