The trend of building material prices shows an almost continuous decline for the last five years (states the ‘Oregon Sunday Journal’), This conclusion has been arrived at as the result of
a study made by the research department of Greenebaum Sans Investment Company. From 1923 to 1924 there was a decline of 6 per cent. The 1925 price level remained unchanged from that of 1924., But in 1926 prices were to a point 8 per cent, below 1923. This year’s price level (1927) is 13 per cent, below 1923. The data here reported is based on prices obtained from markets in all (sections of the .United
States. They cover prices of lumber, brick, Portland cement, structural steel, paints, and ether material.
