RESCUE FROM SURF [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, January 30. In the last stages of exhaustion, and with a severe attack of cramp, a man named H. Unwin was rescued from the surf at New Brighton yesterday afternoon. Unwin was out of his depth when he had a seizure of cramp. His plight was noticed by the patrolman, and the lifesaving team made a smart turn out. After an hour’s resuscitation efforts Unwin became conscious, and was later taken to his home.
