The Waipiata, which left Auckland yesterday for Lyttelton and Dunedin, is due here about Tuesday, The Breeze is now duo here on Monday night from Lyttelton, and sails the following day for Timnru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. To discharge the remainder ol her Home cargo, the Hertford left l.’ort Chalmers yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth. 'The steamer Jim leit last evening for Westport to hunker. The vessel's subsequent movements have not .vet been advised. The Progress is expected to-morrow night from Wcllinglon to load on Monday for Now Plymouth and Port Waikato. THE KERRY SERVICE. The Wahinc, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at G. 55 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails came soutli by the 8.50 a.m. express. PASSENGERS FOR. DUNEDIN. j THE OLD WESTEALIA. I With the Westralia in tow, the former interstate steamer Inga .left Sydney recently for Rabaul —a 2,000mile journey. She will leave the Westralia there, to be used as a storage hulk for copra, and then continue to the Solomon Islands, to enter the copra trade. Both vessels were bought in Sydney recently by W. R, Carpenter and Co.,"Ltd., the Westralia from Huddart, Parker, Ltd,, and the fnga from James Patrick and Co. The engines have been removed from the former vessel, and she is now lying in Kerosene Bay. MANY NEW SHIPS. Seven 10,000-ton steamers are to ha j built by the Nippon Yuscn Kaisha under ibo company’s five-year term construction programme. Three of the vessels are to bo freighters for opera- | tion out, of either Seattle or San Francisco. Two others are to be passenger liners for service between Japan and Europe. Another will bo a freighter for the Yokohama-East Coast of South America Line, and another will be a. passenger and cargo steamer for the Shanghai-Jnpan trade. The new programme is in addition to the throe motor ships being built for the transpacific service out of San J 1 rancisco. \II of tho vessels arc to ho completed by ]P32. WITH AMERICAN CARGO. Willi, a largo quantity of American cargo for discharge at this port, the Manchester Merchant, from New York via northern ports, is due here on Wednesday. After completing discharge, she will then proceed to Westport fof bonkers, and thence to Australia toi Homeward loading. PORT CAROLINE SAILS. The Port Caroline completed her loadin- at Port Chalmers late last night, and sailed at 5.30 this morning for Tiniarn for further loading. She then proceeds to New Plymouth, Wanganui, and Wellington, and sails from the last' named port about February 15 for Loadon via Panama. FROM BRITISH COLUMBIA. Tho Waikawa, from British Columbia ports, is expected to dear San brancisco to-day tor Los Angeles to complete loading for Papeete, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, and New 1 lwmoutli. MATATITA’S LOADING PORI’S. The Matatua is due at Dunedin about February 0 from London via Suva te discharge a largo quantity of Homo cargo.
