Officials’ races, diving competition, exhibitions of trick swimming, and an exhibition of plain and fancy diving by several of the champions comprised the programme, which towards the finish tended to turn from burlesque to absolute farce. WATER POLO COMPETITION. During the evening the water polo championship was carried a further stage, Wellington meeting the undefeated Canterbury side. After a close and exciting game the teams left the water with honors even, each side scoring five goals. Canterbury hardly played up to its form of earlier match is, but the Wellington team made its best showing to date, and its throwing was good. Meikle (3), Stokes, and Wheeley, and for Wellington Murrell (3), Cameron, and Pelham scored.
