NEW YORK, January 25.([Received January 26, at 10 a.m.) At Los Angeles thousands of people endeavored to gain admission at the opening of the Hickman trial. Hickman, haggard and cringing, pleaded insanity. His counsel objected to trial by a judge on the grounds of prejudice, after which the pudge held a recess court for the purpose of deciding whether to continue the trial.
